Energy Audit
The results of our energy audits typically provide ASHRAE chiller plant co-efficient of performance (COP) ratings of 1.2 or worse... placing most equipment that we assess in or, beyond the needs improvement class.
Worryingly, our findings are usually not necessarily reflective of the quality of the actual equipment.
In direct contrast to the COP rating, our customers may have invested well from an equipment selection and design concept perspective. Unfortunately, due to poor operating conditions and maintenance standards they cannot realise the true value and benefit of their investment.
The consequences of poorly operated and managed equipment has an immediate OPEX cost impact (energy and failure rates). Our reports contain details of operational savings. We have provided potential Nil-Cost savings of up to 1.4 M BTH/Annum.
Moreover, when coupled substandard maintenance practices it results in significant CAPEX cost impact, early life cycle replacement of high value assets.
SBT energy audit reports also include CAPEX energy project recommendations with returns on investment (ROI).
Our energy audit reports are typically supported by real asset life impact and improvement examples.
ASHRAE Co-efficient of performance

ASHRAE: The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers is an American professional association seeking to advance heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems design and construction.
Coefficient of performance (COP): Ratio of the rate of net heat output to the total energy input expressed in consistent units and under designated rating conditions.
